Learn To Fight With Free Resources

Self Defense Stances - Image Source selfdefenseguides.info
Talking with many people about learning how to defend themselves, and why they don't learn to fight, a lot of excuses come through. However, there is one thing that is going to come out of nearly every single person, and it's money. The majority of people that you can interview are going to tell you that they can't simply afford to learn to fight, nor take formal classes at all. You may feel the same way, could you learn kung fu without paying someone? Seriously, could you? Well, there are a few resources that you can take advantage of today, and end up moving forward with relative ease. The following, for instance, are ideas that are going to help you with self defense, without having to spend a giant amount of money. However, if you want to spend a little, you will have choices at the end of this post, but let's discuss free options first.

YouTube Kung Fu Lessons

Look at YouTube on any given day, and you will find that people are updating videos at all hours. Some people do it for money, others do it because it's fun, and some treat it like a business. Whatever the case is, you will find that there are a lot of free videos that you can use to learn how to do simple things within martial arts. I looked up how to do Monkey Style Kung Fu, for instance, and found thousands of videos that show you how to use the stances, what you do with your arms, and lessons on how to use Monkey Style Kung Fu. Of course, this is just one example, but you could learn a lot from the free options that are online with YouTube. These are all going to be video options, so you can pause, rewind, fast forward, and in some instances download options. Some are even taught by professionals in a dojo, and much more.

Using Your Local Library To Learn To Fight

If you have a local library, you should be using it. Libraries have a lot of books to offer you, including books on how to defend yourself. Depending on the library that you go to, you could also have DVD options, eBooks, and much more. These are 100% free to use, and you could very well learn things like Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, and much more. Searching for books in my local region, I found that all of the libraries have a section on self defense. Some of the books they have go back many decades too, so if you want to learn the same thing that guys like Chuck Norris was learning from, you could very well do that. Use your local library, it's 100% free, and you can rent a lot of books with relative ease. Just remember to turn them back in on time, and you are clear to use many of their resources. You can essentially learn to fight for free, thanks to your local library.

Blogs, Websites, and Other Resources Locally

One of the things that you can search for online is, self defense classes near me, and Google will respond by sending you information about classes that are in your area. You could always look at Craigslist as well, or you could look for options near colleges. Colleges near me, for instance, allow you to learn how to defend yourself for free. Women have a lot of options in this regard, but there are some co-ed solutions that your local college campus may have for people of all ages. You could also find blogs, websites, and free resources online if you just look for things like, learn to fight, and free kung fu lessons, etc. This blog, for instance, points you into the direction of certain options, and all of our content is free, and can help you on the path. While we don't post tutorials, there are martial arts blogs that do, and you can always seek them out. Looking for blogs, websites, and other resources are easy to find, with a quick Google search. In some instances, local dojos will give you a free first lesson, and see if you want to continue. Other options have free trials, and more. Either way, you can test a lot of solutions if you look for them online today.

There are many ways that you can get free self defense courses. If you want to learn to fight with free options, you can definitely use the solutions above. However, if you want to learn more advanced techniques, get more information, videos, and even personalized assistance, you will want to look into solutions that are going to cost you. Some options can be as cheap as $1 for a book, or more if you want interactive solutions. Either way, you can learn to fight for cheap, or even free.

The following are options that can help you learn how to fight today. These are recommended by me, and help in a variety of ways.

Can You Have Fun and Learn To Fight At Home?

Crane Style Stance - Source hcs.harvard.edu
One of the reasons why people don't want to work with the process of learning martial arts, or self defense is because they assume it's not fun. Could you have fun and learn to fight? Well, that all depends on a few factors, but if you were to go to take formal classes, you may not have fun. The teacher really makes a difference here. Not every teacher is going to be easy going, not every single one is going to be fun, and some may take things too seriously. The kind of teacher you may work with in order to learn to fight, may not be a good fit for you, but you will not find that out until you are in the class, and have paid the money to be there. Learning to fight, and mastering kung fu, judo, or just about anything, is going to take time, but having fun? Well, that's something that deserves a little bit of exploration. I can easily tell you yes or no, but that doesn't mean that you will agree or that you will in fact have fun. In order to explore this topic, as with all of the posts I try to work on for this blog, let's take a few points to understand the question, and find out whether or not you can have fun and learn to fight, especially if you want to learn at home.

Defining Fun Is A Difficult Task When Learning To Fight

What is your brand of fun? For me, in highlighting learning to fight whether online or anywhere else for that matter, fun has a great deal to do with the teacher. The teacher that is going to show me how to fight matters a lot more than just the actual course itself. Take for example, going to college. There are teachers that you may have liked or hated. For me, the fun teachers made me learn a great deal, even if they were strict. Other teachers were not so fun, and for those classes, I didn't want to learn I ended up hating the class, and not trying as hard. In some cases, I would drop the class and didn't even get past week 2 or 3. Today, I like learning from home, more than having to try out different teachers in person, which is something grand to think about. Defining fun is difficult. There is just no way for me to define that for you, but I can tell you this much. If you learn to fight from home, using any number of resources, you will be able to define your brand of fun based on the training.

Master A Martial Art Course Than Apply Your Fun To It

The first time you learn anything, you may not have immediate fun with it. I'm a writer by trade, and the first few times that I got paid to write, and even over the course of many vacations, I didn't enjoy it. I get paid for it, I'm good at it, but there are times when I didn't want to do it, or I just didn't have any fun with it. I am getting a masters degree right now, and even though I am close to it, there are times when I'm not having fun. Do I ever have fun? Yes, of course! The same goes with martial arts, or learning self defense from home. Once you master something, you can interject some fun and exercises with it. Or you could teach others, and share in the joy of self defense, and martial arts training. The goal of course is simple, first master the form you want to learn, then inject fun when you can. You can inject fun in the beginning as well, so long as you don't lose the focus of why you're starting. the starting goal is to learn to fight, remember, don't lose that amidst trying to find fun in the learning process.

Find The Right Program or Option, To Have Fun While You Learn Self Defense

If you are truly looking at learning to defend yourself, and you do not want to just isolate yourself with classes that you have to visit, you don't have to. You can learn from home. Finding the right program is important, as there are so many different options to take into consideration. One of the reasons why there are programs after every post on this blog is because it illustrates several learning approaches and options for learning self defense. If you want to learn to fight, you can do so at home, and the right program for you will allow you to have some fun. You can define your own fun, you decide how you approach learning martial arts, fighting, and everything in between. I can tell you that one program is fun versus another, but you have to make that decision for yourself, and that's something that only you can truly do. Learning to fight from home can be fun, but will you have fun? That's up to you, honestly. I can't really say that you will if you learned Judo versus Wing Chun, but you may. You have to make that decision, honestly.

At the end of the day, if you want to learn to fight at home, you can. There are many options to explore. You can learn via manuals, long form books, programs that are online, personal teaching, and so much more. There is no end to the options that you can use to learn self defense today.

The following are options that can help you learn how to fight today. These are recommended by me, and help in a variety of ways.

Combat Fighter – self defense for the real world, and something that you can learn on your own time, with proven results. Click HERE for a discount and information.

Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basic Self-Defense Method Video Set Full Review

Sifu David's Wing Chun For Beginners DVD Cover - on Sale Now
As you know, this blog is dedicated to helping people find methods of learning how to defend themselves. You can learn to fight at home with simple things, and I have highlighted many of them in the past. Today, we are going to look at a DVD kung fu lesson that you can purchase today, to learn the martial art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. This is a fighting method that has been used in movies, and more. It's within this fighting style, that you will be able to be just as fast, and acrobatic as you may see in movies. Now, don't get this twisted, this is not something that is going to transform you into Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee, but you will be able to do a lot of the moves that they do, assuming you master Wing Chun Kung Fu, and don't just slack off. The major option we are going to review today is that of Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basic Self-Defense Method Video Set, which is available on Amazon and other stores as well.

What You Will Receive With Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basic Self-Defense Method Video Set

The thing that you are going to get when you purchase this DVD set is very simple, you will get the preliminary lessons that will help you work with authentic kung fu. Sifu David goes into 41 lessons and gives you 122 minutes of form, movement, and application of self defense. The set is completely visual, so you are not going to have to learn via pictures or stills, but rather real movement. You will be able to work slowly, at your own pace, and go back to lessons many times.

You will get a completely course of Yip Man Wing Chun Form, and will be able to take on 41 different lessons that will teach you kung fu. I must stress, these are 41 lessons, spread across 122 minutes, and performed with the instruction of Sifu David. The video quality is good, and the styles are legitimately Wing Chun. You will receive a DVD that you can take with you anywhere you may have a player, and you can practice the forms with relative ease. It's an easy working solution that you're going to be surprised to learn, is simple to flow with. If you have never tried to learn to fight, this is going to be for you. It's really easy to start, skip to lessons, work with the forms, and then slowly become better at Wing Chun Kung Fu.

No Added Purchases Needed To Learn To Fight

What I liked about the option, straight away, is that it doesn't require you to have a partner, nor visit a dojo. You do not have to look into getting a mentor, or have any experience or equipment. Yes, you can buy equipment, and do this with a friend, if you'd like. But the goal is to make an affordable solution for you to work with learning how to practice and master Wing Chun Kung Fu. The price tag on this is so low, you're going to assume that you are not going to get much, but that's not true.

In fact, I did a little math. I looked online for, kung fu classes near me, and then called someone. I asked about learning Wing Chun Kung Fu, and how many lessons I would need to take to learn the basics. I was told that the cost was roughly $10 per class, and to master the form, assuming I was going more than once a week, it could take no less than 6 months to a year, and that's if I'm a really good student and a natural at the form. They said that you could pay upwards of $500 for a box set of lessons, and that includes classes, and much more. Then there were other packages, but the goal was to get me in the door and take classes to learn the style.

Now, let's assume that you paid $500, and you went through all of the classes. There is a chance that you would still not know Wing Chun, and you would still have to take more classes to master everything.

Now compare that to paying 1 price for the 41 lessons, 122 minutes, and end up with a good push forward with learning. If you applied yourself, to learning each lesson, mastering each one, reviewing it, and practicing daily, you would very well end up with a push into knowing authentic Yip Man Wing Chun Form, and practice everything from home, without spending a lot of money. Just buy the DVD once, and that's it. You can work with all the basics, 41 lessons, mind you, and master kung fu. If you want to learn to fight, this helps you do it, for less money then finding kung fu classes near you or me.

Learn To Fight and Win In The Streets

Could you really learn to street fight with this solution? The short answer is, yes. However, what you need to know is that the goal is not to fight everyone you meet. The goal is to learn self defense at home, with practice. Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basics Self-Defense Method Video Set is low cost, and it is meant for you to master over time. You have to watch this over and over again, and practice. I suggest practicing each lesson at least for 30 minutes at a time, and master each step, with a day to review that is at least more than an hour of training.

You may not agree with me, but that's how you learn. You learn by doing, and you learn by going through the motions over and over again. You cannot learn to fight, without dedicating yourself to learning, and not skipping steps. Follow the advice of Sifu David to the letter, to what he's saying, and do not skip beats, do not try to overthink it. To take advice from Bruce Lee, "become water", and don't try to do something you think is going to work. You have to really follow the steps until they are second nature to you. If you do that, you will learn hand positions, attack, defense, and how to win street fights with minimal damage, and without having to use lethal force. Sifu David will surprise you with how you can win street fights.

The Bottom Line About Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basic Self-Defense Method Video Set DVD

It's easy for me to tell you that this is a good DVD to purchase. The price is a lot less than formal lessons, and it fits within what this site is about, learning how to defend yourself online, or from home. If you are serious about learning self defense, and you want to learn kung fu, this is a great introduction. This is a set that is not going to break the bank, will provide you a full break down of the basic forms, and movements that you can use to win a street fight, if you need to. Over time, you can purchase more advanced books, and DVD lessons, but for the beginner, Sifu David's option is well worth exploring. For under $10, you could learn 41 different elements of Wing Chun, and if you master them, you could very well grow in your knowledge of self defense, fighting, and more.

As far as learning to fight from home, I recommend this DVD as a great option. It is easy to follow, it has a lot to offer, and it is for those that want to learn Wing Chun Kung Fu without breaking the bank. It is a valuable tool for you, if you want to learn to fight.

Look, if you want to learn, write your own review, or want to try this out, then you can buy Wing Chun Kung Fu Training Basic Self-Defense Method Video Set DVD by Clicking HERE.

3 Reasons You Will Not Learn To Fight and Become Batman

No, You Will not Become Batman If You Learn To Fight - Source DC Comics
Fans of comic books, movies, and entertainment will know who Batman is. If you want to be like the caped crusader, that's awesome, but don't expect to become him if you learn self defense. Sure, you can learn to fight, but you need to know that you are not going to become as good as Batman. Seriously, you are not going to end up being a vigilante, and even if you did get the skills of a master of martial arts, you would still have a lot of money that is going to be needed. With that in mind, let's take a look at the 3 reasons why you will not learn to fight and become Batman today or even in 10 years.

Learning To Fight Doesn't Make You Enough Money

Let's just say that you did want to become Batman, and your goal was to get all those cool gadgets. Well, you would need the financial element that will help you. That is not going to help you, because you are going to find that learning to fight doesn't pay you. Let's say that you did learn, and you went into the UFC, then you could make some money. But will it be Bruce Wayne aka Batman type money? The short answer is simple, no. Even if you were the number one guy in the world of MMA, you cannot match the sheer numbers of money that comes with trying to emulate Bruce Wayne, which is a ficitional character. But let's say he was real, you would need to somehow make a billion dollars, and that's just a conservative estimate of how you could match Bruce Wayne aka Batman. Sure, you could learn to fight, but the financial end is not so simple.

Multiple Disciplines Is Very Difficult To Learn

Focusing on martial arts, you are going to find that there are people that study this for a lifetime. That includes more than 30 to 40 years of study, and are still not anywhere near perfect at the form. Yes, they can be very good, but best in the world level? That is a hard thing for even the most experienced of fighter. You can learn to fight, no doubt, you could do a lot of action in your home and in studios, but the chances that you can match the prowess of the champions of mixed martial arts, and any other fighting form, like that of Batman, you are going to find that it's nearly impossible. Batman is supposed to be a master in 127 styles, according to Comic Vine online. That includes Muay Thai, Kendo, Wing Chun, Shorin Ryu, Chin Na, Judo, Taekwondo, Ninjitsu, and much more. Let's just say, it's impossible for "one" person to know all of those at a master level.

Batman Has Many Years of Detective Training

Let's assume that you were able to learn to fight, mastered a lot of martial arts styles, gun training, and much more. You are an elite athlete, and you can take on a lot of bad guys. Well, you still would need a lot of years of training as a detective. According to DC Comics, and a great deal of stories that involve Bruce Wayne as a child and a young adult, you will find that he was an apprentice under several private detectives, as well as professional law enforcement agents. He had several mentors, and has pursued the craft of deduction for many years. So perhaps you can jump into the world of law enforcement, train well, but you would still not have the prowess of Batman, as you would need more than an allotted 15 years of training with mentors in the public and private sector of law enforcement, and detective agencies.

Of course, there are more than 3 reasons why you will not learn to fight and become Batman. However, you should not let that stop you from learning self defense. This article is created to illustrate the embelishments of comic books and entertainment. Just because you cannot literally become Batman in your life, doesn't mean that you cannot learn a lot from self defense, martial arts, and more. However, keep in mind, that these things are a means to an end, and are life long journeys. They are not meant for you to learn in a few years and then master it all and fight crime. Self defense, especially that of martial arts is a lifestyle choice that can carry a lot of benefits, none of which are for you to become a vigilante super hero.

The following are options that can help you learn how to fight today. These are recommended by me, and help in a variety of ways.

2 Big Reasons You Should Learn Judo For Self Defense

Judo Throw Example - Source Wikipedia
There are many different forms of self defense that you can learn. In my journeys of looking into this topic, and finding what works for me, I have found that one of the better solutions for a wide variety of people is that of Judo. If you want to learn to fight, Judo can help you with that. If you simply want to learn more about your body, and be better equipped for life's curve balls, then this can help as well. There are two major reasons why you may want to learn Judo for self defense, especially using online methods. I'm an advocate for online methods, mind you, so it's imperative that you consider starting your journey with learning how to fight, online. Of course, you could find a teacher or a class somewhere and go that route as well, but for the sake of this site, we try to aim at the notion of learning self defense from online resources, and that includes mastering the art of Judo. What 2 reasons could there be to learn Judo for self defense? Let's take a quick look at this, and see if it's right for you.

Judo Teaches Superior Balance

One of the main influences that you will find with learning to use Judo is that it helps with balance. If you are involved with sports, you owe it to yourself to improve your balance, and this is a martial art that helps with that. Because the main focal point of Judo focuses on the notion of using momentum, and changing the course of direct and indirect weight, you will find that this helps your balance across your body. The stances, the movements, the throws, and the pressure that you will place on your feet will allow you to stand up against bullies, and will allow you to use your complete balance to move even the heaviest of foes. If you're a skateboarder, surfer, or work with any action sports, this martial art could very well improve your abilities because the equilibrium you will have will magnify, improve, and support balance in very unique manners. Beyond the idea that you can learn to fight, you are going to find that the process of learning Judo throws and techniques will deliver on the premise of superior balance from day one.

Judo Can Be Taught To Nearly Anyone

One of the best things that you are going to find about Judo is that anyone can learn. Whether you're in a wheelchair, you're a 95 year old grandparent, an obese person, or someone that is 110 pounds soaking wet, you can learn how to fight, as well as move immovable objects. This is a martial art that anyone can work with, and you can very well fight your way through weight loss, performance, and much more. You can even learn Judo online, in the comfort of your own home. You will need to have an online resource first, and then a dummy, and that's it. Judo can be taught to anyone, and it's a simplified version of martial arts that you can learn in the comfort of your home.

What You Need To Learn Judo From Home

There are is no real end to the amount of options you have to learn how to fight. You can use online resources, you can buy books, and you can invest in classes if you'd like. There are two major things that you will need. The following is an example of the things you will need, and you can start learning Judo in this manner if you'd like. Obviously, this is just an effective solution if you want to work with it. However, everyone learns differently. You could use these things to learn Judo from home, but it's just "one" way to do it.

Judo Manual (Book) - you will need to a book first, and that can easily help you learn the positions and the different stances, and more. You can buy a good Judo Manual by clicking HERE.

Judo Instructional Video - you are going to need to know how to use your body to stand, balance, and throw weight around. Judo instructional videos abound, and there are a lot of options to consider. You can buy a good Judo instructional video by clicking HERE.

Judo Throwing Dummy - to learn Judo from home, you are going to need to look into buying throwing dummies. There are dummies that you can fill to upwards of 100 to 200 pounds, and that will help you learn how to move your weight and throw others that are of that weight. These dummies are anatomically correct, and are easy to learn with. You can buy a basic Judo dummy by clicking HERE.

There you have it, a good break down of what you need to have at home to learn Judo, and of course, and two major reasons why you will want to pursue that martial art for your personal self defense needs. Learn to fight from home, and use Judo as a major way to lose weight, gain confidence, and defend yourself from nefarious individuals.

Learn To Fight With Easy Online Lessons

Kung Fu Lessons - Image Source Bamboo Kung Fu Toronto, Canada
Right now, the internet has allowed millions of people to learn how to do a lot. You're going to find that you can easily move forward with learning anything. I for one, learned how to cook, learned how to exercise, and lately, I've been learning how to defend myself thanks to the online lessons that I have been seeing throughout various means. If you want to learn to fight, you may want to take advantage of the opportunities that are available online. This may sound crazy to some, but you will be surprised by what is possible, especially if you commit yourself to the opportunities that abound today. There are several things that you should know about this process, especially if your goal is to learn to fight with easy online lessons. Again, these are just starting points, so you won't become Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee in 6 months, but if you are serious about confidence building, and fighting against nefarious characters, here are a few things to note about this process.

Expert Martial Artists Teach Online

Before you scoff at the idea of learning how to defend yourself online, you need to know that expert martial artists are teaching online. Not too long ago, for instance, a UFC Lightweight Champion retired to teach people martial arts, and he has classes online. There's also other major martial artists that are teaching. They aren't the only ones, former military professionals, and so many others are also consulting and teaching on the web. Every page that I write on this blog, for instance, has links to where you can find more information about some of these sites and individuals. What you will find with the process of learning how to fight online is that you'll find that experts are teaching online, and you can learn from their experiences with ease. If your goal is to learn to fight online, you can do so easier than ever before.

Philosophy of Martial Arts Not Just Fighting

For those that don't want to just learn to fight, that's ok. A great deal of the teaching that you can garner online is about philosophy of fighting, and martial arts. This includes peaceful meditation, learning how to control your mind, and resisting adrenaline fueled decision making. It's something that has helped many peaceful warriors get the upper hand regarding their own lives, not just fighting. There's a unique element to the online lessons that you can explore.

You Control Your Own Learning Process

I've noted this before, and I will continue to remind everyone that reads this page, you control the learning process. When you are in a dojo, when you are under the teaching of a professional in person, you cannot control how fast you learn. If you don't get something, or if you have problems, you will need to take the lesson again and possibly pay for more classes, etc. While that's not a bad thing, you should know that you can control your learning process if you go with online lessons. Online martial arts lessons can help you review, renew, and refresh every lesson in the larger scope of learning and mastering self defense. That alone is well worth your time. You control the process, and you don't pay extra if you need to refresh your memory, or study certain moves and more overall.

The internet is ubiquitous. You can learn how to fight online. You can look into a lot of programs, you can buy books, and you can get expert training at a fraction of the cost from a dojo. You can always test the options out I link to, or you can look for solutions online outside of what I recommend and can end up with a positive push forward. Just remember, you are able to do anything with the internet, if you choose to do so. If you want to learn to fight online, then you have opportunities to do so for free, or for a small fee. It's that simple.

The following are options that can help you learn how to fight today. These are recommended by me, and help in a variety of ways.

Combat Fighter – self defense for the real world, and something that you can learn on your own time, with proven results. Click HERE for a discount and information.

Renegade Mindset For Fighter – already know some self-defense? Or perhaps you want a psychological edge in your daily routine? Here is a solution that helps you get into the right mindset as a fighter. Click HERE for a discount and information.
